Donna Melick, MBA, MSN, RN, CNRN, CSSBB Central Ohio Technical College
Welcome to my webpage. Here's a little about me. I have been a nurse for 20 years and have never regretted it for a moment. I believe my calling in life is to be a nurse and my personal mission statement reflects that. It states: Make a difference in someone's life every day. There aren't many professions that allow you that privilege. As a nursing educator I can do that many times over. My career began at Grant Medical Center in downtown Columbus Ohio. Almost all of my time there was spent in trauma and critical care. Grant Medical Center is one of the premier Level One Trauma Centers in the country. I worked at the bedside, management, administration and process excellence. After 15 years I decided it was time to change career directions. I began teaching at COTC in 2003 and plan to stay here for the duration. I have taught many different courses and am currently teaching Nursing 1 and Nursing 2; as well as an online course in Trauma Nursing and Trends and Issues. I have been married to my husband Glen for 25 years this August! And, it gets better and better every day. We don't have children but are fabulous as an Aunt and Uncle! We live in Pataskala with our three dogs (outside) and three cats (inside). I love to be outside in the woods to hear the birds and critters in the early morning and late evening. I spend many weekends in the summer at the NHRA Drag races, Indycar races and at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. I love racing and would be trying to do that if I weren't a nurse! Enough about me...let me know about you. Send me an email to say hi!
